Maple Coconut Deep Dish Pie Crust Recipe

No rolling, just mix it up and press into a pie pan. Easy to make and so delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
  • 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil
  • 1/2 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375ºF.
  2. Lightly oil a 9-inch deep dish pie pan with 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil.
  3. To make the crust, combine the flour, ½ cup melted coconut oil, maple syrup, and salt in a medium-size bowl and stir until well combined.
  4. Transfer the dough to the prepared pie pan and use your fingers to press it out in an even layer over the bottom and sides of the pan. Poke a few holes in the dough with a fork.
  5. Bake for about 10 minutes, until the crust is lightly browned. Remove from the oven and add your pie filling.
